Terms of Service

Short terms, plainly said.

These are the terms for using Treasure Stored. They are written to be read rather than to be impressive, and they say plainly the one thing that matters most: what you write here belongs to you.

1. What Treasure Stored is

Treasure Stored is a private archive for the Scriptures, notes, quotes and reflections that have shaped your faith. It is run by Noah Krueger, an individual, not a company.

It is free. There is no paid tier, no advertising, no sponsorship and no donation button — partly by choice, and partly because the Scripture text the app displays is licensed for non-commercial use only (see section 7).

By creating an account you agree to these terms.

2. Your writing belongs to you

What you write in Treasure Stored is yours. You keep every right you had in it before you typed it here. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of your memories, notes, reflections or attachments to anyone else.

We store your content, display it back to you, and include it in backups, solely so the service can work for you. We do not:

• claim any licence to publish, display or distribute your content to anyone else;
• use your content to train models;
• sell, rent or share your content with third parties;
• read your journal except where you have asked for support and given permission, or where the law requires it.

You can export your entire archive at any time from within the app, in a portable format you can read without us.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself, and for what happens under your account.

You may delete your account at any time. When you do, your journal content is deleted from the live database. Backups are retained for a limited period and then expire, after which the content is gone from those too.

We may suspend or close an account that is being used to attack the service, to break the law, or to store content that would put the service at legal risk. Where it is possible and lawful to warn you first, we will.

4. Acceptable use

Please do not:

• use the service to break the law, or to store material that is unlawful to possess;
• attempt to access another person’s account or data;
• attack, overload or probe the service, or bypass its rate limits;
• resell or redistribute the Scripture text the app displays (see section 7).

5. Availability

Treasure Stored is run by one person on modest infrastructure. It is offered on a best-effort basis, with no guarantee of uptime, and it may be unavailable during maintenance or for reasons outside our control.

Your archive is backed up, but you should keep your own copy of anything you would be grieved to lose. The export in section 2 exists for exactly this reason, and using it periodically is the most reliable protection available to you.

6. Changes to the service and these terms

The app will change over time. Where a change materially affects your rights under these terms, the updated terms will be published at this page with a new “last updated” date, and where reasonably possible you will be told in the app.

Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not, you may delete your account under section 3.

7. Scripture text

Scripture passages shown in the app are provided under licence and remain the property of their publisher. The full copyright notice is at /copyright.

That licence is non-commercial. It permits your personal use of the text inside Treasure Stored; it does not permit you to redistribute the text or to use it commercially.

8. No warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Noah Krueger will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising out of your use of the service.

Because the service is provided free of charge, total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you have paid to use it, which is nothing.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in California will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
